Seafields, a company pioneering the management and farming of the invasive Sargassum seaweed species, has launched a second crowdfunding campaign to support its carbon dioxide removal (CDR) initiatives. The campaign will fund work to develop sustainable approaches that capture and sequester carbon from coastal seaweed, turning a coastal environmental problem into a climate mitigation opportunity.
The effort is part of Seafields’ broader strategy to mitigate climate change through innovative ocean-based approaches, addressing the environmental challenges posed by Sargassum proliferation while advancing scalable CDR solutions.
